Christine Clemmesen

I have long been engaged with the relationship between sculpture and photography. In a recent body of work exhibited at Møstings in Copenhagen in 2024, I made frames that combined photographic images with various processed and found materials. My real interest in photography lies in its potential as a tool – as buttons I can turn to explore what is happening. I am anti-dogmatic about whether a photograph is sharp or blurred, high/low resolution, digital/analogue, large/small. My criterion is that the medium shapes what it expresses.
