To pers udstilling med Anders Bülow, november 2024.
In Perlende Glitch, Bülow & Clemmesen are showing new works that challenge the relationship between the personal and the formal in visual and spatial installations. They require us to look at what the status is of our use of, and relationship with, analogue and digital images, and how we look at the relationships between material and immateriality, body, screen and photographic surface. Light and shadow effects play on shifting surfaces, while colors and forms emerge in relationship to the viewer’s vantage point, proximity and distance. They fluctuate up close and from a distance, from reliefs, to photographic and scanned renderings, rough handmade surfaces and printed coloured gels. They suggest underlying information revealed only in movement, creating a scene for contrasting dynamics between light, shadow, inside and out. The works examine how the human body, physical space and technology are connected, exploring how lens-based images and their physical form may be perceived in a digital age.
